Depending on their application, rigid foams are usually expected to have high mechanical properties and thermal insulation along with low weight, in which regard, the type of celling and structure of the foam plays an important role in providing optimal performance. The polyol formulation used must be designed in such a way that during the injection process and during the chemical reaction with isocyanate, it ultimately provides a structure that, despite having a low weight, also provides properties commensurate with the performance expected from the foam.
